These Nachos are a delicious step up from the classic version, packed with hearty chicken, optional crispy bacon, and a rich, flavourful tomato mix that ties everything together. Using Miami Indian Style Tomato Mix gives the dish a warm, spicy twist that South Africans love, making it perfect for quick entertaining or effortless family dinners. With layers of cottage cheese, cheddar, mozzarella, guacamole, and sour cream, every bite is loaded with texture and flavour. This easy oven‑baked nacho recipe is a guaranteed crowd‑pleaser: simple to prep, fun to assemble, and impossible to resist.
Recipe Ingredients
- 1 packet Nacho’s chips or Dorito Chips
- 4 chicken breasts
- 250 g diced/streaky bacon (optional)
- Salt and Black Pepper to taste
- 1 can Miami Indian style tomato mix
- 1 cup Chunky cottage cheese
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese grated
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese grated
- 1⁄2 – 1 cup Guacamole store bought or homemade
- 1 cup Sour cream
- 1 Tomato chopped
- 1⁄2 Onion chopped
Instructions
- Pre-heat the oven to 200 ̊C – spray a cast iron ovenproof pan with cooking oil.
- Arrange the Nachos/Doritos in the bottom of the pan – set aside.
- Cook the chicken (cut in blocks) and bacon until done – season with Salt and Pepper – add the
can of Miami Indian Style mix – let cook for 2 minutes – spoon the meat mixture on top of the
Nachos/Doritos.
- Place spoonful’s of the chunky cottage cheese on top of the meat, sprinkle half the cheese mix
over.
- Add another layer of Nachos/Doritos, meat, cottage cheese, sprinkle the cheese mix over.
- Transfer the ovenproof pan to the oven for about 10 minutes – until the Cheese has melted.
- Remove from the oven – top with the Guacamole and Sour cream – sprinkle the Tomato and
Onion over.
