  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 1 can Miami Chopped Peeled Tomatoes
  • 1 can Miami Anything Goes Tomato Mix
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Italian mixed herbs or origanum
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lasagne sheets
  • White sauce (béchamel)
  • Grated cheese

Béchamel (White Sauce)

  • 80 g butter
  • 80 g flour
  • 800 ml milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the onion and garlic
    • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
    • Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.
    • Add the crushed garlic and cook for about 1 minute.
    • Add Italian herbs or origanum, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Cook the mince
    • Add the 1 kg minced beef and cook until browned.
    • Break it up with a spoon while cooking.
  3. Add the tomatoes
    • Add the Miami Chopped Peeled Tomatoes and Miami Anything Goes Tomato Mix.
  4. Simmer
    • Stir well and let the sauce simmer for 15–20 minutes until thick.
  5. Make the Béchamel Sauce
    • Melt the butter in a pan over low heat.
    • Add the flour and stir to make a paste.
    • Cook for 30 seconds – 1 minute (do not burn).
    • Remove the pan from the heat.
    • Add ½ cup milk and whisk until smooth.
    • Slowly add the remaining milk, whisking to prevent lumps.
    • Return to medium-low heat.
    • Cook while stirring until the sauce thickens (12–20 minutes).
    • Add salt and stir.
  6. Assemble the Lasagne
    • In an oven dish, add a layer of meat sauce.
    • Add lasagne sheets.

    • Sprinkle grated cheese.
    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  7. Bake
    • Finish with white sauce and grated cheese on top.
    • Bake at 180°C for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.
